When going down is good

I've often complained about how jumping out of an airplane with an experienced tandem guide is safer than merging onto the 101.  It's certainly more fun.

  1. Hi John,
I'd like to know if there is a way to set different profiles for XUL Fennec and for Native UI. If so, I would really appreciate it if you could tell me how to proceed!
    Many thanks!
    Best regards,
    Gabriela

  2. This is a very good question, Gabriela, and I'll actually have to look into it. I'm assuming you mean "profiles" as in user-profiles (different default view, or...) what specifically do you mean?

  3. Hi John, many thanks for answering me so quickly!
I mean different profiles as I have for my desktop Firefox, aka one for daily use and one for working, each one with a different set of addons. This way I can run both at the same time or even different channels (Beta, Aurora, Nightly) at the same time too.
I'm asking because I'm a MDT (Mobile Driver Tester) so I'm testing the new Android Native UI. I'd like to be able to try your tests too. Actually, I'm the one who filed the Camera API bug! They are for the XUL Fennec build and it seems I cannot have both installed in my tablet. That's why I'm asking about different profiles and I would greatly appreciate it if you could tell me whether it's possible and if it could harm my tablet. Many thanks! Best regards, Gabriela

  4. Sorry for the delayed response on my side, Gaby. As I understand it (and feel free to double check e.g. with Kevin Brosnan or Naoki Hirata), there is no way to duplicate profiles. On the other hand, unless I'm very much mistaken Ioana Chiorean at softvision (you are yourself with Softvision in Cluj, am I right?) seems to be running multiple versions (Beta, Aurora, Nightly) on her device, so you might want to check with her to see how she does it. 5. No problem! Many tahnks for your answer! Actually, I'm running multiple versions (Beta, Aurora, Nightly) on my device too, but the XUL version seemd to be incompatible with the Native UI one. I'll try again, I'll see how it works and I'll tell you about it. Best regards, Gabriela
